What kind of game this is
Synergism opens with a button that makes coins and a row of producers called Workers, Investments, Printers, Coin Mints and Alchemies, each buying the next in a chain. Alongside them sit Accelerators and Multipliers, which speed up the whole economy rather than any single producer. This is deliberately the most familiar opening in the genre, and it lasts about twenty minutes.
What Synergism actually is becomes clear once you notice how many tabs are greyed out. Buildings, Upgrades, Achievements, Runes, Challenges, Research, Anthill, Cubes, Corruption, Singularity. It is a pure numbers game with no fiction and no characters, built by someone who likes exponents, and its whole content is the structure of its own progression.
The reset ladder
Five layers, each of which eats the one below.
Prestige is the first, converting your coin production into Diamonds and Crystals. Transcend sits above it and pays in Mythos shards. Reincarnate is the third, resetting both of those and returning Particles, Atoms and Obtainium, which is the currency for the research tree. Ascension is the fourth and by far the largest jump, wiping the entire lower structure and paying in Wow! Cubes, Tesseracts, Hypercubes and Platonic Cubes. Singularity is the fifth, and it resets almost everything you have ever had for Golden Quarks, then later Octeracts, Blueberries and Ambrosia.
Each layer introduces mechanics rather than only multipliers, which is the reason the game holds people. Runes are a levelling system fed by offerings. The Anthill is a separate production chain with its own tiers. The research tree is long enough to plan around. Challenges are handicapped runs with permanent rewards, and Challenge 10 is the gate to Ascension.
Corruptions are the best idea in the game. At Ascension you choose how badly to sabotage your own run across eight axes with names like Viscosity, Drought, Deflation, Extinction, Illiteracy, Recession, Dilation and Hyperchallenge. Higher corruption makes the run harder and multiplies what it pays out. Instead of a reset button, you get a difficulty dial with a payoff curve, and working out how much punishment your build can absorb is the actual game for a long stretch.
There is also a tax. Past a certain amount of wealth your coin production is divided by a growing factor, and the mathematical constant, bought with a currency of its own, is what pushes that ceiling back. It is a soft wall that stops the early economy running away, and it catches people who have not read anything.
How long it takes
Players report roughly a month of daily play to reach the first Singularity, and the game does not consider that an ending. Later singularities compress a great deal, with experienced players clearing runs in an hour or two. The Steam page's own estimate is "probably thousands of hours".
The figure in this page's data is a rough reading of that first month, since reaching Singularity once is the closest thing to a milestone anyone agrees on. It is not a completion time. There is no completion.
Controls and the phone
Buttons and tabs, with hotkeys for the common resets. The interface is dense: several columns of small controls, a resource ticker along the top, and tooltips carrying information you need. On a phone browser it works, but it is cramped and reading the numbers is a chore. Play it on a desktop if you have one.
Offline progress is real and properly implemented. Come back after a night away and the game itemises what accumulated while you were gone, subject to a cap on how much offline time you can bank at once.
The honest caveat
Synergism is free and MIT licensed, and the official version also sells a premium currency called PseudoCoins through Stripe, PayPal, Xsolla and Patreon, with a subscription tier on top.
They are not cosmetic. PseudoCoin upgrades raise the global cube multiplier, the octeract multiplier, base offerings and obtainium, Ambrosia luck and generation, and the Golden Quark multiplier, and one of them extends the cap on how much offline time you can bank. The subscription grants a percentage bonus to Quarks. None of it is required and the game is entirely playable without it, but you should know before you start that the numbers you see other players quoting may be running on a paid multiplier.
Getting started
Do not save up. In the early layers, resetting often and cheaply is strictly better than holding out for a big number, and new players lose days to hoarding.
Read the tooltips. Almost every unexplained mechanic in Synergism is explained in a tooltip, and the game does not otherwise teach.
Push Challenges as soon as they open rather than treating them as optional. They are the gates, not the side content.
Who made it, and where to play it
Synergism is by Platonic, with Khafra as the other name on the licence and a long list of contributors on the repository. The free browser version at synergism.cc is the game, reaching v4.2.7 in August 2026, and a free Steam release for Windows and macOS followed on 20 February 2026.
The source is on GitHub under a plain MIT licence, copyright 2019 to 2025 Platonic and Khafra. That is the LICENSE file in the repository root, read directly rather than taken from the GitHub sidebar, and it is the only licence file there.
MIT would let us host a build, and we may. We have not yet done so, because nobody here has built a copy and checked what a self-hosted version actually does without the developer's servers behind it. Accounts, leaderboards, the Steam integration and PseudoCoins would all be inert, and the art in the repository has not been checked separately from the code. Until that is done, this page sends you to the developer's version, which is free anyway.
